Thank you to everyone who joined the “Baroque Lines” tour with our teacher, Valentin Rusinov.
During the excursion, the children learned how art, architecture, sculpture, painting, fashion, theatre, music, and ballet evolved during the Baroque era, when everything — from costumes to palaces — was designed to amaze and impress. We also discussed how Baroque differs from the Renaissance, comparing the flowing lines, bright contrasts, and emotional intensity of the new style with the harmony and calm of the Renaissance.
The children particularly enjoyed exploring Baroque fashion — lace collars, voluminous dresses, jewels, and elaborate hairstyles.
In the second part of the lesson, the children made creative sketches inspired by the artworks they had seen and then designed their own Baroque-style fans, decorated with swirls, golden lines, and sparkling rhinestones.
It turned into a true celebration of creativity and beauty!
The children not only learned a lot about 17th-century art, but also felt like real Baroque-era artists themselves.
