Support for the Ukrainian Community

Support for the Ukrainian Community

Since 2022, Cambridge Russian School has taken an active role in supporting Ukrainian children and families arriving in Cambridge as a result of the war and made a significant contribution to the Ukrainian community:

Education and Learning

• In Spring 2022, it admitted newly arrived Ukrainian children at no cost. In the following academic year, this was extended through grant-funded free attendance.

• In Summer 2022, it organised a free camp for Ukrainian children, with a focus on introductory English language learning.

• In 2024, it secured a grant to deliver a financial education course for Ukrainian teenagers.

Enrichment, Integration, and Wellbeing

• From May 2022, it obtained funding to organise subsidised, grant-funded coach trips* for children and adults to a variety of destinations, including Woburn Safari Park, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and several seaside locations.

• Between 2023 and 2024, it organised HAF-funded trips* to destinations including Warwick Castle, Hampton Court, Eton, Bewilderwood, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Dorney Court, Peterborough Cathedral, Blickling Hall, Hedingham Castle, and Thorpe Park, as well as supervised activities such as Combat Paintball.
